"For several years now, Offenburg University of Applied Sciences has been using SimPlan's SimVSM software in its Digital Value Stream Management lecture in the Industrial Engineering master's program. The lecture consists of 40% theoretical basics and approximately 60% solving an industry-related project task using SimVSM software.
This allows for a close integration of theory and practical application. The ability to simulate and evaluate simulation variants gives students very quick feedback on their ideas and solutions for the value stream. This allows the complex interrelationships between suppliers, inventories, supermarkets, flow production, throughput time, customer cycle time, and control to be demonstrated in a practical manner.
This gives students a very deep understanding of the entire value stream system and how it works. The results of the project assignment are then presented in a presentation with a live demonstration of SimVSM. A subsequent exam then tests the theoretical knowledge acquired once again."
